Thursday 7/31 6:00 pm Abbey Chapel MHC

I am writing to invite you to a (rather impromptu!) solo baroque violin recital that the Five College Early Music Program Director, Dr. Alliosn Monroe is giving at Abbey Chapel, Mount Holyoke College, this coming Thursday, July 31, at 6 pm. Since her arrival in Fall 2024, Dr. Monroe has created a vibrant early music community engaging in the study and performance of Medieval and Renaissance music at Hampshire as well as other Five College campuses.

In this 45-minute performance, she will be performing beloved pieces such as Biber's Passacaglia and the Bach Gm Fugue, as well as lesser known works by Colombi, Schop, Brade, Roman, and more. Please come to enjoy the beautiful sound of her Baroque violin (different from regular violins) set up in the manner suitable for the music from the Baroque period.

Those who wish may support the South Hadley Dog Park (for which Dr. Monroe is on the board) with a suggested $10 donation. Please feel free to invite friends and colleagues, and we hope to see many of you there!

Time:
Thursday, July 31, 2025 - 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
