Free Bystander CPR training from American Red Cross

Hampshire users: Log in for increased access.

This Thursday, the 16th, Bob Crowley from American Red Cross will be teaching Bystander CPR on campus.  Five sessions will be held and employees may attend any session and may also bring guests.  No sign up is necessary.  This 30 minute training does not involve personal contact.  Instruction is given and practice is performed on a mannequin or foam block.

"Effect of Bystander CPR on Survival

Bystander CPR has repeatedly been shown to improve an individual’s odds of survival from cardiac arrest significantly. In a meta-analysis of 19 studies involving 232 703 patients, the provision of bystander CPR approximately doubles an individual’s odds of survival compared with no bystander CPR"
