Have you ever wondered WHY theater productions have to be structured the way they are? Wanted to get involved in theater or learn a new theatrical skill but felt like you couldn’t because you aren’t a “theater person”? Do you feel like you’d be really good at acting if you just got a chance to try? Are you an artist of any kind interested in collaborating with the coolest & most skilled artists on campus? COME BE PART OF LIVE IN NYC!
Live in NYC is an experimental theater project for students with any level of theater experience. We’ll be putting on a play written by Hampshire student Zephyr/Cas Keteyian, using a collaborative, non-hierarchical process that will allow students to work with other artists, using their pre-existing and learning new ones. We’ll be blurring the lines between actors and tech team, and experimenting with a collective directing process – and we want to build the process around YOU.
Come to our information session on February 21st at 4:30 in the Kern if you want to learn more! We’ll be talking through the process and asking you what YOU bring to the table. We’re interested in working with artists of all types (performers, dancers, painters, sculptors, musicians – EVERYBODY), not just people with theater experience, as well as people who don’t identify themselves as artists but are interested in trying this thing out! If you like what you hear at the information session, you’ll be invited to fill out an application form.
WE WANT TO MEET YOU WHERE YOU’RE AT! BUILD THE PROCESS BASED ON THE SKILLS AND INTERESTS OF THE GROUP! TRY NEW THINGS, HAVE FUN, PUT ON A PLAY!
