Toward the end of his life, Martin Luther King, Jr., became much more vocal about the need for economic justice and helped to start the Poor People's Campaign -- a multiracial, nonviolent movement for justice and economic equality.

In 2017, the Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for a Moral Revival was launched with the goal of bringing the original work of the Poor People's Campaign forward.

This Thursday, March 11, come hear Cynthia Pease, a member of the Prophetic Council of the Poor People's Campaign, speak about the spiritual basis for this movement and how you can be involved. Ms. Pease, who lives in Sheffield, represents the Diocese of Western Massachusetts on the Council and has the mission of preaching about the Campaign and its underlying principles to the Diocese and beyond. She is also involved with the Campaign's Freedom Church of the Poor.
