Feeling sick? Stay home, mask, and test for covid!

Warning message

Hampshire users: Log in for increased access.

Stay home if you are feeling unwell and please mask up around others if you have any symptoms. Student must report a positive COVID-19 result to Residence Life. Employees must notify their supervisor/dean of faculty and Human Resources of a positive test result.

And everyone on campus or coming to campus should check themselves for symptoms of COVID-19 prior to leaving their residence.

If you have any potential symptoms of COVID-19:

  1. Stay at home. Do not go to class, work, other activities, or dine indoors. Students, stay in your room and wear a mask when you leave your personal room for any reason (including trips to the bathroom). Employees, do not come to work.
  2. COVID-19 test. Either do two rapid antigen tests spaced 24 hours apart (purchase from a local pharmacy or the Hampstore), or get a symptomatic PCR test at Health & Counseling Services (students only, hours below) or at local pharmacy or healthcare provider (employees). Stay in your room or at home until you get results back, and wear a mask around others.
  3. Negative results? Cool, now you can resume normal activities around campus. Please continue wearing a mask if you have symptoms to minimize spreading germs to others. And at the least make sure the folks you are with are cool with and consenting to potentially catching your illness.
  4. Positive result? Students, let Residence Life know ASAP. Employees, notify your supervisor/dean of faculty and HR within one business day.

The full details are available on the Current COVID FAQ

**Students, call Health & Counseling Services for guidance and symptomatic PCR COVID-19 testing (Monday – Friday between 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m). Please purchase your own home rapid antigen tests from a pharmacy or the Hampstore. The University Health Services Walk-In Clinic at UMASS is also available to Hampshire students after hours (Monday – Friday until 8 p.m. and on weekends from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.). To be seen in the Walk-In Clinic, please join the virtual waiting room and you will be informed of your appointment time.**

Wait, what are the symptoms again?

  • Do you have Congestion or Runny Nose?
  • Have you experienced any gastrointestinal symptoms such as Nausea, Vomiting or Diarrhea?
  • Have you been asked to self-isolate or quarantine by a medical professional or a local public health official?

If you reply YES to any of the questions in the checklist, follow the steps listed in the first section: stay home, mask up around others, and get a PCR COVID test or take two rapid antigen tests spaced 24 hours apart. Students can obtain symptomatic PCR testing from Health & Counseling Services. Employees, talk to your healthcare provider or local pharmacy. Everyone is responsible for purchasing their own at home rapid antigen tests from a local pharmacy or the Hampstore.
