NOMINATION OF OFFICERS FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2024 – 2025
Monday, March 11th – Friday, March 29th 2024 (11:59 p.m.)

Use this form to nominate yourself to serve with the Hampshire College Student Advocacy Board (SAB) in one of the positions listed below.

All Section Representative and Team Members hold elected positions for a one-year term. All assume office at 12:00 a.m. on May 15th and ends at 11:59 p.m. on May 14th of the following year of appointment. All elected officers (Section Representatives and Team Members) must be active residential or commuter students and be prepared to participate in planning meetings that will be scheduled between May 15th – August 15th, 2024. Most meetings will be held via zoom. Thank you for your interest.

CAMPAIGNING TIME FRAME: Saturday, March 30th - Sunday, Apr 7th - promote nominees and also all other matters requiring student body votes.

STUDENT BODY ELECTION & VOTING TIME FRAME: Monday, April 8th - Wednesday, April 10th 
All currently enrolled students at Hampshire are eligible and encouraged to participate in the election process.
 

Students are eligible to be nominated for ONE of the following positions (IF MORE THAN ONE NOMINATIONS ARE MADE, ONLY THE 1ST SUBMISSION WILL BE ACCEPTED.

  
OPEN POSITIONS: SECTION REPRESENTATIVE & TEAM MEMBERS

All of the following are for a one-year term. The SAB elected section representatives and team members assume office at 12:00 a.m. on May 15, 2023 and ends at 11:59 p.m. on May 14, 2024 the following year of appointment.

SECTION REPRESENTATIVES 

  • The Student Life Representative
  • The Campus Environment Representative
  • The Academic Representative
  • The Affinity Group Representative
  • Five Colleges Student Representative
  • Communications and Marketing Manager
  • Student Advocacy Board Treasurer

Office/Work Hours and Compensation
Representatives are required to complete the following work hours:

  • complete office hours to plan meetings and activities individually and with their team members
  • (4 hours per week)
  • attend SAB meetings open to all students (1 hour per week)
  • attend SAB elected members meetings (1 hour per week)
  • conduct tasks to fulfill job description (4 hours per week)

Each representative will be paid a stipend of $1,275 per semester, a total of $2,500 per academic year. Stipend will be paid in two intervals per semester. Compensation are funded equally by the Student Activity Fee and the College (Dean of Students Office). These positions are eligible for academic credit (e.g., Community-Engaged Learning ( CEL) I or CEL II). Upon the establishment of SAB, consideration and exploration may take place to transition involvement in SAB as enrollment in a 3 credit academic course.
