The Smith College Gamelan Ensemble and the Five College Ethnomusicology Program invite you to an evening of music and dance:

Our spring concert features two guest Javanese artists, dancer Veronica Retnaningsih and musician I.M. Harjito, both faculty at Wesleyan University.

 

The Smith Gamelan is comprised of Smith and Five College students, faculty, and staff, and community members, directed by Phil Acimovic, and supplemented by various guest musicians from around the Northeast U.S. The group was founded in 1995 as a way to introduce Five College students to the Central Javanese gamelan tradition.
