About Jon
Jon Reed 86F is a published author and entrepreneur. His most recent book, Free from Corporate America, is about creating life on your own terms, and is the book he wished he could have read when he was graduating. He is finishing a survive-and-thrive guide for artists in the digital economy. Since graduating, Jon has been involved in numerous (mis)adventures in web publishing, online startups, and independent journalism. He is the co-founder of diginomica.com, a seven year-old online publication that focuses on digital transformation, the impact of artificial intelligence, and the future of work.
Jon was a long-time board member of Northampton Community Television (now Northampton Open Media) and is an avid podcaster and video producer. His Div III, a legal history of U.S.-American Indian relations with a focus on modern treaty rights disputes, gave Jon an appreciation for primary research he’s put to use ever since. During his Hampshire years, Jon was an RA and lived in Merrill, Prescott, and Dakin. He’s an active alum with the College and looks forward to sharing with current students and recent grads.
