Warning message

Hampshire users: Log in for increased access.

Starting a new job or internship can feel awkward, and sometimes even after being in a job for a while it’s hard to know how to fit in or be helpful. Most of us want to be good at our jobs, but we don’t always know how. In this workshop, you will learn specific ways of being amazing at any job.

CAUTION: Side effects could include great recommendations, being re-hired, or getting a promotion.

Topics include:

  • Proactive communication
  • Taking initiative while respecting boundaries
  • Listening techniques that help people feel heard and understood
  • Balancing opinions, information, and advice
  • Being helpful whenever possible (it is always possible!)

Bring your questions or just come to listen and learn! Open to all - no need to sign up.
