Contra dancing at Hampshire is back for the spring semester! We will kick off our monthly dance series with music by River Road (Jesse Ball, Sarah Hadley Yakir, and Kristen Planeaux) and calling by Will Mentor. Contra dancing is a super awesome form of social folk dance that requires no dance ability or coordination. You move up and down the line with a partner, repeating the same set of figures many times. All figures are taught and prompted by the caller. River Road is one of the most well known contra dance bands from the area, and Will Mentor is an incredibly popular caller from Vermont. Come at 7pm for a beginners lesson, or jump in any time! Cookies at the break and fun all night long!
