CONTENT ADVISORIES: This script includes sexual conduct/misconduct, illustrations of substance use/abuse, and language that illuminates on the misogyny and stigmatization directed towards/within the people in these real-life situations.

AUDITIONS ARE OPEN-CALL, however, representation is of utmost importance in our casting process. In order to create dialogue that explicitly interrogates the racism, transphobia, geographical backgrounds, and toxic gender roles that are intertwined with the public health issues facing this community, we want our casting to hold truth to the real individuals affected within it.

SHOWDATES:
March 26th, 27th, and 28th of 2020

ABOUT THIS PROCESS:
The Chemsex Monologues is commentary on the social use of methamphetamine, GHB, and Mephedrone in Queer Hook-up Culture, explored in 5 scenes threaded through one another. The Chemsex Monologues premiered at the European Chemsex Forum 2016 before transferring to the King's Head Theatre in May of that year. This iteration will be the U.S. premiere, extending a conversation overseas to American audiences.

Our work in the fall leading into our spring performances will involve community outreach, advocacy, and education on the public health issues surrounding, but not limited to substance abuse, HIV and other STI prevention, sexual violence, queer isolation and homelessness, body politics, depression, cultural awareness, and existing misconceptions.
