Against the Rules invites us to rethink how we think, to rewrite how we write, and rework how we work. What have we as feminist thinkers been told is the “correct” way to approach our work, and how can we break through those boundaries by experimenting with expansive modes of knowledge-making? Join us as we explore creative, energizing, and political ways to push against institutional and academic expectations: we’ll weave poetry into academic text, play with personal narrative and style, activate alternative models of presentation, and so much more.
The series opens November 29th with a panel and conversation featuring feminist thinkers Jen Cannon, Margret Grebowicz, Ever E. Osorio Ruiz, and Silke Steinhilber. Interactive hands-on engagement opportunities will be offered throughout the spring semester.
