1 Week(s) 3 Day(s) ago
Time: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Organizer: Aidan Owens ( )
Notes: Different Drummers: A Musical Celebration of Diversity is an evening of West African music, dance, and celebration of differences. This event features the hard working and talented students of Berkshire Hills Music Academy, a post-secondary school for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities that uses music to develop skills for communication, independent, and employment.

The BHMA African Drumming and World Music Ensembles, directed by Music and Human Service instructor Aidan Owens, have been working hard and are excited to share all of the great African music that they have learned. Come support these great young adults and party with us, West African style! There will be dinner (American and West African favorites), performances, and interactive drumming and dancing.

This event is the culmination of Aidan Owens's Division III (senior thesis) work at Hampshire College, which focuses on West African music and special education.
Location: Red Barn
