Moodle & CWS will be unavailable on Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 8:30am until late morning or early afternoon. We will be upgrading both systems.
In line with our current Moodle course retention policy, courses from the 2015-2016 academic year will be deactivated on that same day. If you have courses scheduled for deactivation, you will see them grouped together in your Filtered Course List block, in a category labeled "Deactivation in July 2021".
It's a very good idea to back up the material from these courses before they are deactivated! We have three suggested methods (with instructions) on how you can do so:
- How to save a PDF of the course’s main page - this creates a "syllabus" document that you can easily refer back to.
- How to save as a Moodle archive file - this packages the entire course, so you can someday re-upload the whole thing to Moodle. The archive file will not be readable on your computer.
- How to save a folder containing the course readings - this saves every document that you have uploaded to the course in a single folder. You will be able to view the folder and the readings within it on your computer.
We also have a video that covers the basics.
The previously deactivated courses from the 2014-2015 academic year will be permanently removed.
