On Monday March 25th, CORC welcomes Dan Inglis, 00F, to our office. Dan is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, voice teacher, choral conductor and arranger based in Easthampton, Massachusetts. Dan is now the Director of the Hampshire Chorus. Dan wants to engage with musically-minded students to help them find their way from Hampshire out into the world of making money as a musician.

The Alum 1-2-1 program is your chance to have a 30-minute informal conversation with a Hampshire alum. It's an opportunity to brainstorm, ask questions, and bounce ideas off alums who are spending their lives doing what they love. Use CORC's online scheduler found at corc.hampshire.edu to sign up for a 30-minute meeting with Dan (scroll down and click the yellow “Schedule an Appointment” button). Be sure to include your division, phone number, and a brief note about your interests and questions.

Appointment times are available from 12-3 PM on Monday, March 25th  and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Students of all Division levels (and recent grads!) are welcome to schedule a meeting.

If all time spots are filled, please call or email Sue to be added to the wait list (413.559.5445 or sking@hampshire.edu).

Dan's mission as director of the Hampshire College Chorus is to co-create a rigorous and engaging ensemble steeped in the vital progressive culture of the Hampshire College community, informed by the finest musical training available, to serve and inspire the College and the wider community.

Dan maintains the busy Dan Inglis Voice & Piano Studio in Northampton and has long been a "recognized third-party instructor" for Hampshire College course credit. He is also a founding member of eminent choir the Illuminati Vocal Arts Ensemble. As a busy freelance artist in the Pioneer Valley, Dan has logged between 2,000 and 3,000 gigs. Recent projects include playing organ for rock band Matt Byrde, singing in opera choruses for The Scarlet Professor and Ìrìn Àjò, directing and writing scripts for the Pioneer Valley Chordsmen (a barbershop chorus), and directing music at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Northampton.

As a tenor soloist, Dan has appeared with his folk act, "Disappearing Railroad Blues,” Mak'hela: The Jewish Chorus of Western Massachusetts, the Amherst College Concert Choir, the Hampshire College Chorus, a cappella group the Connotations, worship ensemble Part Fire Part Faith, progressive/left folk trio Red Valley Fog, and with his students in recita

Dan has also served as musical director for Lander-Grinspoon Academy and for multiple musicals, including "The Pirates of Penzance," "Passion," and his original scores for the plays "Dreaming Inside the Lover’s Eye" and "Bind Their Wombs."
